Bye Bye diapers!!!!

Well we did it, and let me just tell you, I'm exhausted. We did a three day potty training program that my friend Shannon told me about, and guess what it really worked! Well I haven't taken Wesley in public yet but he has done great at home. Today was day three and he started to pee in his underwear's twice this morning and caught himself, but the rest of the day went great. He went in the toilet 15 times today, that is what happens when you give him cup after cup of liquid! Well I don't know where our first outing is going to be but I know that it will have a toilet and that I will have a change of clothes for him in my purse, just in case. So bye bye diapers hello undies!

Working through it!!

So things have been a bit strange for me lately. My parents are going through a divorce right now and it is really hard for me to think about, I try to put it in the back of my head and not think about it because it hurts to much. Most of the time not thinking about it helps but it really hits me when we have family gatherings and one of my parents is not there. It makes me upset. I have heard that it is easier for an adult to go through their parents divorce then it is for a child, but after going through it myself I think that they are equally hard. I'm starting to realize that things will never be the same again. Like what do I do about holidays? My parents dating? Moving on with things in general? Last year for Christmas I made my parents a decoration for their house, it was a painted wooden board with their last name on it and the word established with the year they were married. It breaks my heart every time I go to their house and see it. I wish I would have never made that board! I have told both parents that I am not a part of their divorce and I have asked them to leave me out of all the details. I hate that I have to go through this! I know this happens a lot in life with many families but when you think of the concept of an eternal family I think it definitely makes things more difficult. Well I really just had to write down my thoughts, but if anyone has any thoughts on this topic or helpful tips feel free to leave a comment!

Finally!

So it has been a long time since I have written a post. I have either been to busy or to lazy! There has been a lot going on in our life's lately, here is a couple of things that we have been up to:

-Steven built a retaining wall in our backyard and getting ready to pour concrete,
hopefully he can get started on the addition soon so we can have more room.

-Wesley just had his second birthday party on Saturday and it was a blast.

-I have been spending time with my sister who came to visit from Texas for a week, and I have been dealing with some pretty upsetting family drama.

Other then that we have been enjoying the pool and spending time as a family.
I'm happy to know that I don't have any major events going on in the next couple of months, so this means I can relax for a while!

Thank you to all of you that gave me advice, I am happy to say that Wesley hasn't thrown any pretzels at me recently. Things are getting better, I just needed to be more persistent with him and now he knows I'm in charge, well most of the time anyway!
